Today Nuance made an announcement about their new software called TALKS 5.0 for Symbian S60 5th edition touchscreen smartphones. This new software will help the disabled, especially the blind and visually impaired. How the software works is the user would slide their finger across the screen to hear menu selections, applications, widgets, and text.
Once inside a menu, you can use the volume keys by pressing up or down to browse the options within that particular menu. One of the more interesting features of TALK 5.0, is that the software will read aloud the letters on your virtual keyboard. This will help type messages and text for a user that can't see real well. Nuance has released this software to work with 20 languages worldwide, to help as many disabled as possible. To receive this software go to nuance.com/talks to download and install TALK 5.0.
